Everyone who had a single critical bone in their body for fictional media is done with this show.
This series broke gokaigato
It broke darthempress
It broke shellheaded.
And it’s slowly breaking several others.
This is the first instance of a show I’ve seen that has just completely broken its criticizers under the circumstance of just being so mind-numbing that people who don’t just shut their brain off when they watch cartoons can’t take it. It’s almost completely mystifying in the most intriguing of ways how this series has managed to just topple the biggest and baddest of the TMNT fandom’s critical giants. The analytical powerhouses. The big leagues. The heavy hitters. The seasoned veterans of ninja turtles who’ve withstood all other incarnations.
But I REFUSE to be broken by this show. I REFUSE to let it beat me back into complacency with it’s constant mediocrity and disappointing writing.
I will not bend to its cliches.
I will not break to its love triangles.
I will not crack under its objectification.
I will not crumble from its characterization.
I will not wither in its barren desert of POC representation.
I will not drown in its ocean of toxic ideals.
And I will not be so easily pushed around by those who can’t handle my criticism.
I will never be silenced. I will watch this show all the way through if I have to. I will witness every flaw. Every sloppy mistake. Every disappointing writing choice. Every plot hole. Every mischaracterization. Every socially, culturally, or contextually inappropriate incorrect and insensitive occurence.
I will watch it. I will write about it. And I will destroy it.
And I don’t care who has a problem with it.
Somebody needs to backhand this show whenever it thinks it can get away with that junk and if that person is me then so be it.
I will suffer for the good of my people. I will suffer for the future of this fandom. I will suffer in the hopes that my words may convert those who believe in injustice and complacency to transform into analytically, intelligent, savvy and socially-aware consumers of media.
As a future English teacher to the youth of America I cannot in good conscience leave this asinine series to go unchecked in its own devices.
In other words.
I’m gonna keep analyzing, criticizing, and ripping the ever-loving shit out of everything in this series that deserves it and if you don’t like it then

BACK IT UP THERE, CHIEF.
I understand how some people wouldn’t find Leo to be their particular cup of tea (I mean i admittedly didn’t really like him that much when i was a kid) but he is NOT under any definition an asshole. He’s serious, yes. A bit stoic and stuff, sure. And yeah he might act like an old man most of the time. But that’s just who he is. He was oldest. The most serious about ninjitsu, and the strongest believer in the code of bushido and the honorable way.
And while he may not have been the most affectionate or expressive at most times (though i assure you he had his moments all the same) he still loved his brothers and sensei dearly and treated not only them but all of their friends and allies with the utmost respect and decency. He was wise far beyond his teenage years and was always compassionate to those around him, delivering advice that one could think only capable from a seasoned adult. He would protect his loved ones and the innocent from harm at any cost. Nothing was more important to him than his family and his code of honor.
Why else would he have had his own entire cluster arc of episodes in season 4 after almost losing his family to the shredder completely dedicated to him experiencing extreme guilt for what almost happened to them. For almost not being able to protect his family. He felt as thought because he wasn’t good enough, didn’t care enough, didn’t work hard enough- that his family almost died and he would’ve been completely to blame and it almost destroyed him. The only reason he even acted like an ass for a little while after that is because he in hyper-brood mode from the incident and that was the way his guilt manifested. By becoming cold, he felt as though he could focus on training and only training. He was truly only punishing himself.
Leo’s not an asshole. He’s never been an asshole. And anybody who think’s he’s an asshole needs to take another good long look not only at how they define that word but at Leo himself. He was really a kind, responsible, protective, caring, devoted, loving, understanding, wise, and compassionate soul who was forced by nature into bearing the brunt of the word and responsibility for his brothers. Leo deserves nothing but respect and admiration for being exactly what he needed to be to keep his family safe and happy no matter what the cost. He might not have been very much of a teenager, but there are a lot of us older siblings who harbor old souls. And like I said….he sure did have his moments.
For the longest time I thought Leo had like…. No personality. But now that I’m older and have experienced having to deal with a younger sibling and being in a leadership position (one I don’t believe I did very well in) I can relate more to him and understand why he did what he did.
He’s really a great character
the only jojo dad worth a shit tbh…………………
